Word From Bro. Kevin
Moving brings an interesting perspective to our lives. As we pack our belongings, we wonder why we store some of the things we store. We wonder why we purchased some of the things we purchase. We wonder what we will do with all this stuff we accumulate over the years. In short, despite being terribly difficult work, moving can be a time to re-evaluate our lives by looking at all of our stuff.
For over 53 years, our church family has resided at 2300 State Boulevard. We have made many significant
memories, and we have amassed a lot of stuff which is about to be moved. Some things need to be discarded
because their usefulness has long expired. Some things are being rediscovered as exciting and long-forgotten treasures. Some things are simply necessary and will require labor to move to the new campus.
December 19, 20, and 21, we will be moving our stuff to the new site. If you are willing and able, we need your help in moving our stuff. We need as many warm bodies as we can get. We need as many pick-up trucks and trailers as we can get. We need hand trucks, dollies, ropes, blankets and quilts, and any other items which will make the move easier. It is crucial that we be
finished by Wednesday evening the 21st, so El Bethel can have a couple of days to move in before Christmas.
Don’t forget that we will have worship Christmas morning at 10:00 a.m. at the new campus. Keep in mind that only the first floor will be finished. In light of this, we will not have Sunday School Christmas day or New Year’s day. We will only have morning worship services on those 2 days. Beyond those 2 weeks, we will schedule and
organize our Sunday School around the rooms which will be available.
We need your help and cooperation. We need your
patience and understanding. This move is a huge
responsibility, and some problems will arise, and we need to be prepared to cope and to do the best we can with what we face. This period will require lots of love, mercy, and grace. Keep that in mind before you gripe, complain, or have something negative to say. We all want to be in the new building. We all want things to run smoothly. We all want what is best for our church family, so think before you speak.
Know that your church staff is working very hard to make this transition as smooth as possible. We are doing the best we can with difficult circumstances, so pray for us, and please help us get what needs to be done finished.
Thanks for your support,
Bro. Kevin
